My methodological focus is in the area of bioinformatics and statistical genetics. Currently, I am working selection methods for imputation algorithms in microarray data, cluster validation, and empirical methods for evaluating the number of markers needed for inferring ancestry in a study population. We are currently forming a Bioinformatics Working Group withing our department, along with fellow faculty members Somnath Datta and Susmita Datta. I also have significant collaborations with the departments of Epidemiology and Public Health, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Molecular, Cellular, and Craniofacial Biology, and Infectious Disease.
